Marty received his offer from the Wildcats on April 15 but kept it a secret until Monday, mostly out of respect for Miami. He initially committed to the Redhawks on March 29.

An unranked prospect, Marty is the 12th commitment in Northwestern’s 2017 class and its only quarterback. He is the only signal caller the Wildcats are expected to take.

Marty also had offers from Eastern Michigan, Toledo and Western Michigan.

Northwestern's 2017 class is currently ranked 20th in the nation by Rivals.
